Mabuya striata

The Striped Skink is found in the eastern half of South Africa as well as portions of the Northern Cape. They are often common around man-made structures.

Striped Skinks feed on small insects and other invertebrates.

Besides being found around man-made structures they are also found in rocky outcrops.

They grow to a length of around 20 cm.

These lizards often become quite tame when food is offered regularly.
