The December issue of Getaway magazine is now available, and the cover reminds readers that it is summer, and you should be out doing things. Well, let’s see what they suggest we do.

Going to one of South Africa’s game reserves is always a good option (not only in summer) and there is a “masterclass” on how to photograph the Big-five. As you would expect the photos accompanying this article are really good. The Gallery also includes some really exceptional photos.

“Durbs by the sea!” also gives some great ideas as to how to spend your summer vacation. This is followed up by an article “5 epic summer adventures under R3000.” Your options include diving, kayaking, off-road driving, climbing and skydiving. I think that I would choose the off-road driving as it is the only one that doesn’t include heights or water.

So now I am all set for summer and need to plan my summer holiday. See you next month.
