The Wildebeest's Review of Getaway Magazine - Volume 29 Number 5

I am happy to see that the cover of this months Getaway Magazine promises lots of information on the Northern Cape. To me the Northern Cape province is like a different world in our country. Things are just different there.

I flip to page 68 to read about what the Northern Cape has to offer and find a variety of attractions from paddling on the Orange River to “smelling the fynbos” at Naries Namakwa Retreat. I just love the look of the !Xaus Lodge where one can spend the evening gazing at stars and the day exploring the surrounding area.

Cycling through Mozambique may not be everyone’s idea of a holiday, but it does have a certain appeal, especially that most of the tour follows the coastline. I enjoyed reading about the places to stay in Riebeek Valley. Della Vigna Cottage, near Riebeek Kasteel, looks like a great place to stay.

As usual there are great features on photography with the article entitled “colour blast” on spring flowers being the best. So, if you want some good reading along with some potjie recipes then this is the magazine for you.
