The Wildebeest's Review of Getaway Magazine - Volume 29 Number 6

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

It’s spring and the latest issue of Getaway Magazine is out on sale. The cover promises to introduce us to 11 beach cottages and 10 finds along the Dolphin Coast. That sounds just like the remedy for the approaching summer.

I decide to start with the beach cottages and decide that “Shack on Supers”, in Jeffreys Bay, would be my pick if I planned to hit the beach this summer. There are a few others that catch my eye as well. I do feel that Getaway concentrates more on the Western Cape more than KwaZulu-Natal in some articles such as this one.

OK, so I forgot about the article on the Dolphin Coast in KwaZulu-Natal. Sorry Getaway team, but I am going to keep checking that other provinces get a fair bit of space in your mag. The “most luxurious stay” went to The Beach House Lodge at Salt Rock, and it does look very impressive!

As usual the magazine is filled with lots of bits and pieces on photography, cooking, road trips and more making it overall another good issue of this popular magazine.
