The Wildebeest's Review of Getaway Magazine - Volume 31 Number 8

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

The cover of this months Getaway Magazine is like a smorgasbord of travel destinations. This issue is going to take us from the Cape to Cradock in a Suzuki Jimny, tell us where there are some muddy routes to ride a motorbike, visit Laos and Rwanda, and sample some Brazilian foods. Where do you start?

As often happens to me the photography articles catch my eye first and, in this issue, I particularly enjoyed the underwater photography from Mozambique. Next up I tackle the road trip from Cape Town to the Mountain Zebra National Park. This is the trip that the author took in a Jimny which is renowned for being a capable little car and I am not surprised that it handled the trip with ease.

We then switch from the comfort of a vehicle to the discomfort of a mountain bike. Well, that’s my opinion. Some great trails are described in the article. Next, we have the power and noise of adventure biking. This is the one where you apparently need mud to have fun! It definitely is one way to see a different side to the country...

As promised the magazine visits a range of countries and places and offers great tips along the way. There really is something for everyone in this issue.
