The Wildebeest's Review of The Gardener SA Magazine - November 2020
Welcome to the November 2020 issue of The Gardener South Africa Magazine. This is just the right tonic if you are cooped up trying to think of ideas to revitalise your garden.
If you like formal gardens, then you will enjoy the article entitled “Restoring a Grande Dame.” It really is a beautiful garden but a little clean cut for my liking. Strangely this article is followed by an article on indigenous flowers for small gardens. South is really blessed with some stunning flowers!
Although not indigenous Fuchsias are also beautiful flowers and deserve a space in most gardens. Moving away from flowers there is a section on medicinal plants for pets.
The tree of the month is always a highlight for me and this month the Cape Wild Fig, Ficus sur, has been chosen. This large tree is not suitable for most gardens but, if you have space for it, it will really attract a lot of wildlife into your garden.
Of course, there is lots more of interest in this issue, but I hope that I have whet your appetite.
