The Wildebeest's Review of "African Wildlife International Edition - Vol 35 No 4"

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

The close-up photo of an immature Lammergeyer adorns the cover of this issue and as expected, there is an article about these magnificent birds in the mag. Addo Elephants have apparently thrived too well and the park has now reached its carrying capacity. An article dives into the possible solutions.

Us South Africans love our beaches but do not really understand the pressures placed on them during our mass migrations to the coast during the holidays. The magazine explains some of the challenges being faced by beaches, marine reserves, estuaries and river mouths.

“Death in the Sun” is an interesting article about an unfortunate subject – larger mammals being caught in fences. Animals injured by, or entangled in, fences face a slow death, and one can only imagine what these poor animals go through.
