Mitchell Park is situated in the suburb of Morningside in Durban.

The park is a popular venue on the weekend and you will need to get there early if you are looking for a good picnic spot!

Mitchell Park has a small 'zoo'. It is very cheap to visit the zoo area and is a must for the kids. A wide variety of smaller mammals, reptiles and birds are on display. The zoo was established around 100 years ago and at one stage was even home to an Indian Elephant.

The rest of the park consists of expansive lawns, beautiful gardens and shady trees. There is a playground for the kids.

Another popular feature of Mitchell Park is the restaurant where a variety of meals are served.

If you have been to Mitchell Park let us know if you enjoyed your visit.
