Phalaborwa Gate is the main point of access for those visitors staying at Letaba, Olifants, Mopani or Shigwedzi Camps. The gate is located on the western edge of Kruger National Park near the town of Phalaborwa.
As is usual with Kruger National Park entrance gates there are a variety of trees and plants, toilets and reception offices.
When entering the park for a day drive through Phalaborwa Gate one really has two choices of roads to follow. You can follow the H9 tar road towards Letaba Camp or explore the H14 and other roads to the north-east of the gate.
Whichever route you choose you should take the S51 gravel road past Sable Dam to see what is around. At times the game viewing can be quite good in this area. The other place to stop at is the Masorini Archaelogical Site.
