Western Cape

Although Betty's Bay is a small holiday village it holds a 'record' for being the longest village in South Africa. It stretches for 13 km along the coastline.

It is situated just short of 90 km from Cape Town and is popular for holidays and weekends away.

Two items of interest in the Betty's Bay area are the colony of African Penguins and the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden. If you are interested in flowers then the best time to visit is between October and February.

The village takes its name from Betty Youlden, daughter of the original developer in the area.
