The village of Welbekend is located at the junction of the R25 and M30 in eastern Gauteng. These roads are quite busy, but I don't think that too many drivers take notice of the small village as they race by. To get to Welbekend from Bapsfontein take the R25 heading north-east towards Bronkhorstspruit. One can also take the M30 heading south-east from Garsfontein. The M30 route is quite a scenic drive without too much traffic.
The name Welbekend is Afrikaans for "well known" although I have not been able to find out what it is well known for! The most obvious buildings are a filling station and the buildings of the Wellknown Christian Centre.
The surrounding area is good farming land and farms with cattle, sheep and other livestock can be seen.
