The Wildebeest's Review of Caravan and Outdoor Life - Issue 641

I know I should be focusing on the caravans, trailers and fancy cars in Caravan and Outdoor Life but I must admit the first thing that caught my eye on the cover was “4 Great Burger Recipes.” Once I managed to get back to the subject at hand I saw headlines about resort reviews, the Free State, touring the US and more.

First up is an article about exploring the Mpumalanga and Limpopo. Both of these provinces are great for wildlife viewing and good weather. The author explored a number of places driving a Toyota Fortuner pulling a Conqueror Companion Off-road camper. That seems like a good combination to me and of course it was more than capable of making this trip.

Now for something different. I don’t ever remember this magazine doing a review of a metal detector. The one being reviewed is the Minelab Safari Metal Detector. Getting one of these gadgets puts a different spin on a holiday trip. Hey, if you are lucky, you might find something that pays for your trip.

Next up is the article on touring the US. I am sure that a lot of us have dreamed of doing such a trip. I have seen reviews of American RVs and they tend to be huge which is rather intimidating for us South African drivers. The one used for this trip was 10 metres long. I am very envious of the trip that the author undertook. Maybe one day...

In the meantime, I read the resort reviews, a glance at the technical stuff and I have finished the magazine. Another great issue – well done team!
