The Wildebeest's Review of "A - Z of South African National Parks"
This is a small promotional booklet produced by SANParks (South African National Parks). It only includes parks run by SANParks which means that it doesn’t include provincial parks as well as privately run reserves.
What is included is major parks such as Kruger, Addo and Kgalagadi as well as some of the less well-known reserves such as Bontebok, Mokala and Marakele.
There is a surprising amount of information included for each reserve. As expected, it gives details of the accommodation in the reserve and activities one can do. Some of the interesting mammals, birds and plants that you might see are listed. There are also notes on the history of the park and things that you can do in the surrounding area. A number of small photos are also included for each place.
It is a useful booklet to have and makes you aware of other great parks that you can visit besides the tried and trusted ones.
