The Wildebeest's Review of The Gardener SA Magazine - August 2018
This issue of The Gardener magazine kicks off with a trio of Crassula ovata which are a great indigenous addition to most South African gardens. I also enjoyed the article on potted Gladiolas, one of my favourite flowers.
The headline article is a review of the Chelsea flower show which must be a fascinating show for anyone interested in gardening to attend. Maybe one day this Wildebeest will get there...
Echeverias are not indigenous to South Africa but that doesn’t stop them from being one of the most popular succulents grown in this country. There is a great article with stunning pictures on them. If you are looking for an indigenous tree for your garden, then check out the article on the Cape Saffron (Cassine pergua). It is a great addition that is suitable for smaller gardens.
Of course, there are all the normal sections on subjects such as roses, vegetables, pests and much more.
