The Pink Joy is a shrub that goes under a number of names including Jade Plant and Kerky Bush. It is a popular plant in gardens around South Africa and also thrives in containers in many other countries around the world.
The Pink Joy grows to a maximum height of 3 metres but is normally smaller. It has dark green succulent leaves. The large bunches of pinkish flowers occur in late winter to spring.
Its natural habitat is rocky slopes in valleys and it is found in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
In some countries this plant is regarded as a tree of happiness or of financial success and it attracts good luck to your household if you have one. In these countries it often goes under names such as Money Tree or Dollar Plant.
