Interesting facts about Genets

The Large-spotted Genet is sometimes called the Cape Genet or Blotched Genet. This small carnivore can be found over much of Africa as far north as Senegal and Somalia.

Large-spotted Genets feed on small food items such as rodents, birds, insects and scorpions. They may also eat wild fruits at times.

They are a nocturnal species and are likely to be seen singly. They are found in areas with lots of vegetation.

Females normally give birth to 3 young during summer. The young become independent after a year or so.
