Botsalano Game Reserve is situated near the town of Mahikeng and the Botswana border. It is 5,800 hectares in extent and is used mainly to breed various species of antelope for use in restocking other reserves.

The park has an extensive network of dirt roads which are normally accessible by all cars.

There are a number of accommodation options in Botsalano including the Mogobe Tented Camp, Safari Bush Camps and the camping area.

The reserve is well stocked with mammals including White Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Springbok, Eland and Gemsbok. Around 200 species of birds have been recorded in the park. The list includes a number of eagles and vultures.

In summer the weather gets hot but winter nights can be very cold so clothing needs to be taken for a variety of conditions.
