Tinley Manor is a seaside village approximately 60 km north of Durban. It is on a stretch of the KwaZulu-Natal coast known as the Dolphin Coast and dolphins and whales are seen regularly in the area.
There is a great stretch of beach and a tidal pool giving one plenty of opportunities to swim. Besides swimming, and relaxing on the beach, there are other popular activities such as fishing and birding. The area boasts one of the best spear-fishing rees in the world and ski-boat fishing is also popular.
Tinley Manor is not as commercialised as some coastal towns. It does have quite a bit of accommodation available but one needs to book early for peak periods. Sheffield Beacch is 5 km away to the south.
The towns of Blythedale Beach and KwaDukuza are both about 12 km north of Tinley Manor.
