The Wildebeest's Review of SA 4x4 Magazine - Volume 21 Number 2

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

The cover page of this issue of SA 4x4 magazine promises articles on a number of African destinations from the Northern Cape to Ethiopia. Sounds promising so let me look inside.

Page 13 delivers the sad news of the passing of Gill Holgate, wife of Kingsley Holgate. What a sad loss for Kingsley and all those interested in African exploration. As usual the magazine offers a wealth of tips and technical information as well as readers views and experiences. The first article that catches my eye is that of a trip to the Parque Nacional do Limpopo in Mozambique. I am sure that most readers are aware that this park sits on the other side of the Kruger National Park’s eastern boundary and adds a whole new dimension to visiting Kruger.

I particularly enjoyed the article and Mokala National Park which is a whole let less commercial than some of South Africa’s national parks. This doesn’t make it any less attractive and, for some, makes it a whole lot more attractive! Straight after the Mokala article you encounter a page featuring a photo of more than a dozen Wild Dog’s. If this is what you can see at the Khwai River Community Campsite in Botswana, then count me in.

There is plenty more to read than what I have mentioned in this brief review so make sure that you get yourself a copy soon.
