We are heading into summer and the October 2020 issue of Getaway magazine has arrived. It’s time to sit down in my favourite chain, with a cup of coffee, and see what this issue has to offer.

I enjoyed the article on the Waterberg and the efforts to reinstate the natural habitat and restore some of the wildlife which used to roam there. Rock climbing is not for me but the article on the Cederberg shows some guys who appear to know what they are doing and enjoying themselves!

Getaway is always packed with great photographs and articles on photography. This issue seems to have more than its usual amount and there is some great photography to enjoy.

As a birder I also enjoyed the article on Hugh Chittendam and the photograph of the rare Black Coucal on page 56 is amazing. This issue is worth getting just for that one picture!
