False Bay Park is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park which was previously known as the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park. It is situated on the western shore of Lake St. Lucia and is about 12 km east of the town of Hluhluwe.

After passing through the entrance gate, where an entrance fee is payable, the tar road passes through some beautiful forest where birdlife is abundant. Antelope such as Nyala and Red Duiker are very common.

The road eventually reaches the shoreline and one may follow the road to scenic spots such as Rocky Point and Sandy Point. There are a number of places where one may stop and have a picnic.

There is a slipway where boats may be launched. At times the water level in the lake is too low for boats to be launched from here so it is best to check in advance.

False Bay Park has a number of campsites situated along the waters edge. It is really a tranquil place to camp.

Attractions at False Bay include fishing, trails through the forest and birding. It is a very tranquil place to get away from the noise of the city.
