“Africa’s Big Cats and other Carnivores” is a great coffee table type book. It is nicely produced and an absolute pleasure to flip through. It is a hardcover book, in horizontal format and it has a dustjacket.

Photographer Nigel Dennis treats us to some absolutely stunning photos of the big cats, hyenas and Wild Dog. I am both envious of the sightings that he has had and his skill as a photographer. Do I have any personal favourite photos? Well yes, pretty much all of them!

There is not a lot of text in the book and most of it takes the form of captions to the photographs. The text is interesting and provides some insights as to what is happening in the photo.

Species included in the book are Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Serval, Caracal, Spotted Hyena, Brown Hyena and Wild Dog.

This book would make a wonderful present for a friend or family member who has a passion for wildlife.
