Interesting facts about Mountain Reedbuck
The Mountain Reedbuck is a medium-sized antelope that favours hilly areas with bush or forest.
They are grey in appearance with a white belly (I am not sure where the Afrikaans name of Rooiribbok originates from as it implies that they are reddish). Males have horns that curve sharply forward and may be more than 30 cm in length. They reach about 70 to 75 cm at the shoulder and weigh 30 kg or more.
Mountain Reedbuck are found in small herds. These consist of a mature male, some females and juveniles.
The Mountain Reedbuck feeds on grass and leaves.
Females give birth to a single young during summer.
