Tshokwane is one of the most popular picnic sites in Kruger National Park. Not only is it a convenient stopping point between Skukuza and Satara, or Lower Sabie and Satara, but it is also located in a good game-viewing area.
Visitors can either cook their own food or buy from the small take-away outlet.
The picnic site is a haven for birds - particularly starlings and hornbills. One can get great close-up shots of these birds as they scavenge for leftovers amongst the tables.
Game that might be seen in the area includes Lion, Spotted Hyena, Giraffe and Waterbuck.
