Mooi River

Mooi River means beautiful river and the town is named after the river that runs through it.

This small town straddles the N3 and is situated in beautiful countryside about 160 km inland from Durban.

There are many dairy farms around Mooi River and the area is known for producing high quality race horses.

Many travellers on the N3 highway stop at Mooi River for refreshment.

Mooi River is well-known for being the site of Treverton Preparatory School and College.

It is also known for being pretty cold and misty in winter.
