Naboom Euphorbia

Euphorbia ingens

The Naboom Euphorbia is quite common in suitable habitat in the eastern and northern areas of South Africa.

It is not a big tree and only reaches a height of 6 metres.

This Euphorbia gets tiny yellowish flowers. It normally flowers in winter and the small reddish fruit ripens in Spring.

The latex of the Naboom Euphorbia is poisonous and is apparently used to stun fish and kill maggots in open wounds on cattle.
